Hello Everyone,

I am looking for some input on what to restock my tank with. Several months ago I contracted the "dreaded" Marine Velvet and wiped out my fish within 5 days. The end of this month will make roughly 90 days of being fallow. At this point I know that I want a passive tank with a large bio-load. No, I am not "planning" on getting a larger tank, so that rules out most of the Tangs

Facts:

120 gallon display tank
40 gallon sump with refugium
Eco Tech - 2MP40's & 2 G4Pros
ASM G3 Skimmer

Hospital Tank is 20 gallons
Everything will be QT for a min of 30 days, treated as well, prior to entering the display tank

Current Critters:

Crabs
Snails
"reef safe" Lobster
Sea Anemone

Various Corals as well

The tank has been running since September 2017

Give me some ideas, even the possibility of groups/schools of fish. Yes, I know how to use search function on this website. Mostly I was just looking to get some past experience or ideas. I am also entertaining the idea of running the tank fishless for a few more months.

Hugs and bummer! I lost 9 out of 13 last year to MV. My advice is to add slow and only a few at a time to keep stress down. I just lost 3 out of 4 fish in qt. Bought from same place I think gave me the velvet. No more fish from that place....

Wow, that is really sad. Did you ever contact the fish store after that?

I went back to my local fish store and they admitted it was their error. Apparently several other clients had the same problem. The fish store is fixing it's mistake and replacing the value of all the fish I lost( For the other clients as well).

No they didn't. I let them know I had lost fish and got no real response except to sell me "what they use in their tanks" Only reason I went back was they have one of the largest fish selections of most of the lfs's. I have a ocuple new ones to try

Are you going to try the online stores as well?

There are a couple stores north of me, 60-80 miles that I'm going to try. My kids live up that way so can see grandchildren and buy fish <g> An update to the last 4 fish from that other store: 3 died. 1 is still with me. Of course, now the tank is struggling with ammonia so did a wc yesterday. and yeah, I'll try some online places when weather warms up but before it gets hot as it is hot where I am.
