My dream for saltwater was always clown fish and anemones. I have a pair of clowns that host about all the toadstools in my tank and I want the anemones now.

I have no amonia, nitrates or nitrites. PH is about 7.9 and salinity is about 1.024. Most of the hair algae is gone and have some diatoms, I think from the last guy using tap water instead of RO/DI. I kept about 50% of the old water and just did a 20g water change. I have 2 kessil a260w tuna blues for lighting.

My lfs is saying as long as params are holding good I'm safe to get it. I am running through a bottle of special blend bacteria to keep it from having a mini cycle. I haven't seen any sign of a cycle it just seems to have stabilized and is holding.

The system had been up about 3ish years and they said if all stays good for 2 weeks I will be safe getting an anemone or 2. I don't plan on having many fish, just the mated clowns, dwarf angel and pink spot goby.

Sorry if I jumped around a lot but I am trying to give all the info as I am asking for more input.

so its a 40 gallon tank?
Is it all old sand and old rocks too? was it moved around, are there suspended solids.
Ive never kept anything other than rock nems but regular nems are very finicky. Good luck.

110 with 40g sump/fuge. All old rocks and maybe 50% New sand. Everything moved from a 90g with 20g sump with no skimmer. I have skimmer running and dual overflow with 1 sock.
