I realize this will probably bring in the tang police, but I’m slowly but surely getting everything ready for my oceanic tech 120g. I want a tang or two.

I already have:
Two extreme black ice occ clowns
One long survivor green chromis
A very small one spot foxface
A young valentini.

I’m well aware that the majority of the tangs people drool over need a tank longer than 4ft. Thing is, as much as I like the purples and gems, I’m far too paranoid to pay that much for a fish I can’t guarantee will survive. Naso, hippo, heck even yellow tangs don’t interest me (I prefer my foxface).

My question is, would a tomini and/or yellow eye kole tang be realistic members of my stock list? I’m planning on a minimalistic aquascape. And both species tend to be listed as suitable for a 75g and 90g respectively.

I’m not sure I’m completely set on having both. If I had to pick it’d be the tomini. I just don’t want to condemn a fish to a miserable life, you know?

Thanks all!

I have a Tomini tang, a Gold Rim tang, and a LT tang in my 120. Eventually I will have to catch the LT as is will get to big for the tank.

Yes, a foxface and either kole or tomini would be a good combo in a 120. Either of those two tangs would be fine.
