I bought a Red Sea cycling kit to cycle my tank and it says that on day 14 I should add 1 herbivore fish for every 100L of tank. My tank is 300L so according to the kit I have to add three fish on the 14th day. I was thinking about it and I thought it was a bit too many fish to add especially on the 14 of the cycle.

I wouldn’t add any fish until the tank is done cycling. Here’s a link that will help

way to soon to be adding any fish. I waited about 40 days before I added a fish . The only thing I added was some crabs and snails about 21 days into my cycle.

the Red Sea cycling kit seems a bit dodgy because it also wants me to get my cleanup crew on day 10

Could I use the cycling kit but just not follow the steps when it says to add the clean up crew and fish and when I finished the kit I wait for a few more weeks and then start slowly adding fish

I would read up on the link I provided. It explained how to cycle a aquirium

I read that so would I be able to use the kit and then keep testing for ammonia and nitrite and keep dosing ammonia until the number goes from 2ppm to 0ppm in 24 hours and then start adding fish
