I was planning on upgrading my 30 gallon reef to a 55 gallon. But, I have now decided to leave the pair of maroon clowns alone in one 30 gallon and set up a 2nd 30 gallon fowlr tank. It will be awhile before it cycles, etc, but I am looking at a stocking plan. I have a 3-4 " Melanurus wrasse that will be going in for sure. I was thinking about adding a harlequin bass, algae eating goby(lawnmower, etc), and a flame angel. Does that sound resonable or overstocked? I willl have plenty of live rock and a HOB filter too. And compatablity issues?
Does that sound resonable or overstocked?

Ok, I thought it might be a little too much. What if I leave out the blenny and go with just melunarus wrasse, the harlequin bass, and the flame angel? They should all be in the 4" range as adults.

I still think that it will be overstocked. I would choose two of those and add a smaller, compatible fish.

Ok I think I will go with the wrasse and bass. And, maybe add a goby or dottyback later.

Sounds better.....be mindful that many of the dottybacks are very, very territorial....may try and take over the tank and beat up the other fish.
