Hey guys,
57 gallon rimless, 15 gallon custom sump. The new plan is mixed reef, heavy clam population. Want some good community fish. Please try to suggest a full line up. Pictures appreciated. Also, I'm not opposed to spending on a "show piece" fish to run the show in the tank. That's an old pic of the tank, fully cleaned and plumbed now. Ready to get started.
Thanks for reading.

I admit I'm slanted but I love wrasses. They are colorful, active and, with the right mix , low aggression. Here are some pics of mine, the only others I don't have a pic of are my Ornate Leopard Wrasses. I have the occasional skirmishes but nothing major. I also have a Regal Angel that gets along with everyone. Once their acclimated, they follow you around like lost pups:) Granted you'll have different tastes than I do but I don't believe you can go wrong with Wrasses. Hope this helps a little.

Beautiful collection, I'm strongly considering have a wrasse in this build, great additions to a reef.

Wrasses are gorgeous but definitely need a lid, in case you planned to keep your rimless without a top.

I love dwarf angels, but I'm not sure if they are an issue with clams. I'm also partial to clownfish.

How about a Midas Blenny?

Maybe a Sunburst Anthias?

Or a Ventralis Anthias (image via Blue Zoo, not me):

Many people have had luck with Pygmy angels being fine with clams. Just make sure to feed s good amount :)

I also love anthias but would they have enough room in a 57?

Sunburst should definitely be fine. It's not really an open water swimmer. I'm not familiar enough with the Ventralis to give a definitive answer on that one though.

I would love a sunburst pair, beautiful fish. Maybe a pair of those and a flame angel

Do some checking before getting a pair of them. Everything I have seen says they do better alone unless they are in a very large system. I have yet to even see a pair offered on Diver's Den.

Sunburst anthias won't pr, but they also won't fight, so 2 would be fine if you so desired.

I would caution on adding a dwarf angel. Any species of Centropyge may pick at a clam. It is a risk.

Yellow assessor, grammistes blenny, royal gramma, yellow coris wrasse, a flasher wrasse, are just a few possibilities.

Go for captive breds when possible. :D Support the future of our hobby!

That said, if I wasn't doing as many captive bred fish as I could, I'd totally get wrasses. They were on my list until I found out gold assessors are captive bred and do good in groups.

Though, if responsibly collected, buying wilds is supporting fishermen that are on 'the front lines' of doing tangible things that benefit the reefs as a whole, though that is a discussion for another thread.

I have always wanted a flashers wrasse, any ideas on which usually has the most impressive display?

They are all capable of pretty stunning displays. Flavianalis seems to be one of the most ready to go into a display, but they all will, especially with other flashers in the tank.
