I have been debating for a while on what to put in my 15g AIO. The display is a hair under 12g, 15" x 11.5" x 16". Right now there's a bunch of zoas, a frogspawn, hammer and supernatural monti. The wife wants a pair of clowns but I think it's too small of that, especially when they get bigger. So it will probably be a plain Ocellaris Clown and something else.

Any suggestions on what the something else should be? I'd like something that will be up in the water column some and not hiding in a hole or den like a Blennie.

Since Ocellaris are suppose to have a pretty good temperament would I still need to add the other fish before or could I add them at the same time?

A pair of clowns will be about max capacity, maybe 1 other fish.

Instead of clowns, any of the following would work:
Pseudocheilinops ataenia, pink streak wrasse
Any of the Wetmorella wrasses
Yellow assessor
Trimma gobies
Firefish
Neon gobies
Plectranthius
Ecsenius blennies

Hey thanks for the suggestions. I had a deal with the wife when I set it up that we had to have at least one clown for our little boys to look at. So at least one clown and something else.

I only wanted one fish in there for a small load but I'm not opposed to two. I wouldn't put anymore than two in there though.

I've always liked those streaked wrasses and we debated a firefish but I didn't want something that would possibly bolt and hide of the little boys came up there showing them their new toy or something.

A single clown along with one of any of the other fish will be fine.

Some firefish are cowards others are not, it's really hit and miss. I have a 1.5yr old and a 3.5yr old that are always beating up on the tank and my firefish are always out.

Cool. I've been looking at the little blennies. I had a bi-color in my 55g but all he did was stayed in his chosen hole. But thinking back I realize now that it was probably my mean butt maroon clown that probably kept him in there.

Not necessarily, I've seen Bicolors tuck themselves in their chosen crevice for the majority of their time, venturing out for food and not much else.

Yep. That's pretty much what mine did. If it didn't see me in the room then it would come out and swim around. So I guess it was a coward.
