Hey guys I was wondering if you could give me some ideas for my new tank I will be sitting up over the next couple months....It will be a 58g oceanic tank with a 40b sump/fuge connected to a 40b frag tank....both tanks and the fuge will have DSB.

NOT trying to step on anybodies toes but how come I never get a response on this forum?? I thought this was the place to be....Again not trying to get anybody p****d at me.

well i guess it would be a matter of what you are refering to as far as stocking? do you mean fish ? do you mean corals? or both ?

if its just general all stock. there are so many options ! for me i think if i was doing a mixed reef then i would probably try to stick with the more rare-ish corals and be choosy about what i put in.
i would choose lots of different types of textures and growth patterns for the sps. possibly doing things like setosa, orenji danae, red planet table acro, a nice tri color, montiporas, a couple interesting monti caps. lps i would probably do the same a do a small amount of each. maybe the tricolor blastos, a nice colorful acan, cant leave out a nice colorful chalice. maybe a nice neon duncan.
throw in something diff. like a nice clam
wow, so many options.

or how bout doing a specific tank, like japanese, australian etc. only using corals and fish from that location. i always thought that was pretty cool.

That's a rectangle tank, right? 48"

I have no idea your experience, so if you were fairly new to the hobby...

I'd do 3-4 very different fish. Different in style, color, and behavior.
Pick a tiny slow growing < 2" tang up like a tomini. (he gets flamed)
pick your favorite exotic fairy wrasse
pick up a neat specemin fish like a jawfish or yashia goby/pistol shrimp combo

I love LPS.
Start with some fast growing LPS and zoas so you're tanks not empty forever. Grab a frogspawn/hammer/torch/neon trumpet. Grab 3-4 kinds of your favorite zoas

Then slowly fill out your tank out with 5-10 pieces of highend/highprice colorful impact corals over the next year like Rainbow acans, Scoly, Chalices, Dendro, a big wellsy brain etc. Whatever fits your fancy

ahayes13...I like the idea of a specific region tank...never thought abot that....will have to do some research on the subject.

its fry....no,the tank is 36" 36x18x21...I like the wrass idea...I also wanted a pair of GSM clowns but I think that will limit what else I can put in the tank...I also love anthias. I Was thinking of a jawfish of some type one of the reasons I was going with a DSB.
