Hey guys,

I'm new to the hobby. My tank has been cycled for about 6 weeks now. It's a 55g. Currently I have stocked a snowflake clown, ocellaris clown, 2 chromis and a coral beauty as well as the CUC. It will be a reef tank, I just added some zoas yesterday. Any suggestions on other tank mates that will not outgrow the tank size.

Thanks in advance

I would wait a while before adding any more fish, that's a lot for a 6 week old 55.

Ok thank you. Like I said I'm new so any advice is appreciated. I'd rather be patient that lose livestock. We were thinking of doing 2 cardinals, a dragon goby and a wrasse of some kind. I will def wait before adding anything else for a bit but would that be overstocking with all of that?

Each tank is different as far as stocking capacity, so add slowly and test parameters often.

The proposed fish should be fine though.

Avoid a six line wrasse. [emoji53]
They are very common and do eat some bad bugs, but they are too territorial.
Do some research on flasher wrasses, yellow corris wrasse, reef safe wrasses, etc.
Lots of beautiful choices that won't be a jerk to later fish.

Don't do a Mandarin or Dragonette. Your tank is way too young for one. They need a tank that has been running for a year or more with a long established copepod population to do well.

Yea I love the mandarin but idk if I'll ever get one. I feel a 55 may be too small to keep the pod population high enough.
