stocking the 750XXL...tangs and wrasses!

Ok guys its about time to start thing about stocking the new tank.
750XXL stocking list


I have:
1x flame angel
1X azure damsel
1X Malirous Wrasse
1X Benghi


want to add:

1x Midas blenny
1X yellow tang
1X Hippo tang
1X kole tang or purple tang
1X naso tang
1X power blue
1X Royal gramma
1X carpenter wrasse
1X McCosker's Flasher Wrasse
2X ferry wrasses of some sort
1X yellow wrasse
1X Copper Banded butterfly

I might take out a tang so I can add more wrasses.

*ALL FISH WILL BE QTed in copper, praziopro and treated for internal parasites.

thoughts? its a LPS dom. mixed reef.

The 750 is too small for a Naso, and in my opinion and experiences a hippo as well (full grown of course). The hippos are very active and I wouldn’t put in any less than a 6 foot tank. Naso gets a foot and a half and while is one of the more peaceful tangs, once it is full grown it will not be happy in a 5 foot tank. Both are beautiful fish and among my favorites, but I don’t think they’re really suitable to a 5 foot tank. I would suggest sticking to ctenochaetus, zebrasoma, and perhaps even some smaller or less active acanthurus.

The 750 XXL is a 6 foot tank. I have one and love it, but I would not consider putting 5 tangs in there. Maybe 3 at the most if you leave a lot of swimming room in your aquascape.

I thought the 750 was 5 feet for some reason, not sure why. If that’s the case my mistake, but I still think a full grown naso is not suitable for a 6’ tank.

yeah the 750 is a 6' tank...hmmm might have to rethink about the tangs then. looks like there are lots of 6' tanks on here that have more then 3 tangs tho.

the scape will defiantly have lots of swimming room. I do have a buddy with a 14' tank maybe he could adopt of naso after a few years?
of course I could scratch the nano idea in favor or more wrasse...

yeah I can do that 2 elongated tangs and 2 oval tangs...

so what if I skip on the naso and go with a hippo and powder blue then a yellow and kole tang?

Well I have lots of Tangs including Naso, Regal, Yellow, Purple, Kole.......... and other fish in my system and they all get on well together with no issues. I also have massive bio filtration to deal with nutrients

At some point in the future, if they grow larger, I may have to move them (excuse for massive tank upgrade! lol) but for the coming years they are fine and are all well fed happy fish.

I have the Max S650 and build below if you want to see the fishy’s!

thanks for chiming in. i'll for sure take a look at your thread!
my filtration will be pretty good 2 ATS one to feed the tangs algae, carbon reactor, under skimmer tho but with the 2 ATS I think that will be fine will also run a UV and can run a GFO reactor with I have.

for stocking I dont like to over stock but I dont like the look of an empty tank either...
