Hey everyone. I was wondering if it was possible to add 3 fish (1 six line wrasse, 2 true percs) at the same time. I have a 110 gallon with 95 lbs live rock , ins 80 protein skimmer , sump with refugium live rock rubble and dsb. I tested the water and got

Ammonia - 0
Nitrate-0
Nitrite-0
Phosphate-0
Salinity- 1.0255
Dkh 3.62 meql
Calcium- 400

I would quarentine all three in different tanks and reallistically I am just worried about the bioload .thank you all in advance.

I think that will be okay. Just be carefull and not overfeed them.

jsb it is a month old my cycle completed 3 days ago. and reefer you think it would be too much? and mike could you give me some feeding tips .

I would feel better if you would wait a week, then add the wrasse, wait until the next week for the percs. That is lots of LR but it doesn't mean you have lots of eco bacteria yet. Adding the fish in increments will help to build the maturity, adding them too quickly will take you back a few steps. Make any increases in feeding in tiny increments, always. Easy does it, nothing happens fast in this hobby. If you intend to have a clown, this week would be a good time to add it, IF you are SURE you have cycled. If you add a clown, wait two weeks before you follow with the wrasse and then a week for the percs. -> my opinion <-.

You make slow changes, and let bacteria counts catch up. Always working to build bacteria count. In my case I have worked up to the heavy feeding camp, but you are no where near ready for that yet. Easy does it on your feedings. Even a tiny change in feeding volume at this stage can make a huge difference and or mini crash your tank.

You COULD get away with it, I think, but you might want to keep some Dr. Tim's One and Only on hand to arrest any Ammo/Nitrite spike. Your tank is really new, and therefore really fragile. If you are keeping the fish in the Q-tank anyway, just hold one or two back a week and you should be fine. Were it me, I might drop the two percs in and wait a week. The six-line can get aggressive, so I would keep him back until the clowns get settled in.

do not add that darn sixline!! ha if you get one that is a total jerk which a lot are you well be wanting to kill him once he kills some of your new additions.

my suggestion is get the clowns in there. they should be perfectly fine. give it a week and then look at some new stock to add!

I can't say that I disagree. I have a 6 now, but he is fairly timid, as 6's go, and he was the last fish added to the tank. I only have him for pest control on my clams. Having taken care of that, he makes pretty short work of my cleanup crew. I have had a couple in the past that were very aggressive.

When you feed turn off powerheads or anything else that you might have that creates alot of flow. Whatever food you use only put a small amount so as that it is eaten before it hits the bottom. I learned from a very successfull reefkeeper how to feed and i was blown away the small amount of food he feeds. But he has one of the most beautifull tanks i have ever seen. He also owns a fish store and all his tanks are awesome. So that is what i do and strongly recommend following this regiment.

0 nitrate would be a concern for me. One way to tell if you have a bacterial cycle is the presence of nitrate. Go really slow. Clowns are tough, so I'd put them in and wait awhile on the six line. Also, a lot of LPS don't thrive in a 0 nitrate tank. Again, go slow and check your ammonia level every day and be ready to do partial water changes.

Took the advice got the clowns in. Both are beautiful ( a black onyx percula , and a true percula) they are amazing and have been ok with the bioload . no spikes as of yet. My protein skimmer is pulling out a bit more now though. thank you all for the advice . I am trying to do this right this time. and thank you for the feeding tips I have been feeding them just like that and all the food gets eaten before it even starts sinking. Also has anyone had a succesful six line story where they dont wreak havoc?

Or a fairy wrasse? You'd have to research exactly which ones would be okay, but on the whole they tend to be nicer than six lines.

LOL.. how about a tail spot blenny... he is cool and gets along and defends himself.. check them out.

Lol ok I think ill stay away from the sixline . Maybe a flasher . I appreciate everybody's input as the boks only say they may be aggressive. But from all the horror stories I see now ill keep them out of my tank.
