I have a 20 gallon mixed reef with a pair of clowns. I want one more fish, but the clowns Are extremely territorial. Any suggestions on fish? I was thinking of a black cap basslet or something of the variety. I got about a $100 budget.

If the clowns are that aggressive then your options are quite limited for a 20g. Look into a sand dweller. Watchman goby and shrimp, or perhaps a yellow head jawfish.

How about a plain old three-stripe damsel? The black and white of this fish really compliment the colors of the clownfish, plus these fish are no slouches either. It might be able to hold it's own against the clownfish, but if worst ever comes to worst they only cost about $2.99 a piece too.

On a side note; if those clowns ever decide to pair up having another fish in the tank might not be a wise decision. FWIW, I've got a breeding pairin my 20 gallon tank and there's no chance in hell I could add another fish to the mix. The harassment would be relentless. GL.

I love gobies, but I don't like how much sand they move. I had a watchman and he destroyed my rock work overnight. I had a firefish with them but something in my tank ate it.

That's what I need is something that can hold it's own. I do like the looks of them. I'm hoping my lfs has some good fish this weekend
