I've seen stomatella in my tank before; tiny white snails on my glass of a night.
This morning however, I see this strange worm protruding out of my rock. I grabbed it with my tongs and managed to get it to let go. I pulled it out of the water thinking I might have captured some coral or fish killer! But, when I watched it crawl into a recess in my tongs I realized what it was. I Googled it to verify that they could get so big.
I put the tongs in the tank and tonight just before lights out it crawled away.
Over an inch long. I read now they can get bigger. The worm like appearance was it reaching into the water column from the rock. It kind of folds its self in half and looks tubular.
Cool.
