Yes, I live on coffee. You have to when there's 24 hours in a day and you need all of them, ha!

I’m can’t comment on vinegar’s impact on plastic, but I did recently start using citric acid from BRS to clean my equipment. It certainly melts the coralaline off much faster than vinegar.

Good suggestion - looks like there are lots of places to get food grade citric acid, and BRS is not the cheapest.

Vinegar is fine to use for cleaning, but not for soaking. At least based on everything I have read. Soaking in vinegar will eat away at the plastic around the magnets.

Could not agree more with not using vinegar! Wasted so many pumps especially with magnets for me. Ecotech surely must remove the suggestion of using it from their website and packaging soon? Citric acid works perfect for me.

What ratio do you use to clean your pumps?

Not only does the vinigar eat away at the plastic but I work with metal all the time and if you want to age new metal and rust it and make it look aged, you spray it with vinigar and let it sit for an hour and its rusted. let it sit over night and it looks like you left it out in the weather for a year. Rusted surface and scaled metal. Citric acid is the best way to go.

How much citric acid to water ratio do you folks use?

I really don't measure. I would say a few tsp in a liter and let your powerhead soak in it for 30 min. If you've neglected cleaning them then add more and just let it soak overnight.
