Stopping encrusting chalice

I did some poor placement for a few of my encrusting corals. Specifically a chalice and a galaxia.

The galaxia I’m not too concerned about and am honestly considering just covering it with epoxy.

The chalice on the other hand I really like but it’s growing fast and headed to some sps frags and prime real estate for frag space.

Any ideas on a way to stop the growth in a certain direction?

Frag it in the direction of the other coral or move the other coral. It will grow back though. Chalices can be pretty aggressive. You'll have to be careful with other corals coming in contact with it. Sometimes you can block a coral with another coral but I'm not sure that's an option with a chalice. It will almost certainly kill that sps.

thing about chalice is you really need a band saw to get a good cut if its attached to a rock. its fine with a razor blade an hammer if you can get it off the rock with out killing it but if the skeleton is super thick...... you really need a band saw

Kalk paste along the edge you want to stop? Will only halt it for a time though.. I would take a chunk off to relocate and kill the rest. Or you can relocate the sps and let the chalice do it's thing.

They'll grow in any direction where there's a surface as long as said surface isn't in constant darkness.

Could also glue more rocks in a way to shade the part you don't want to grow any more
