I added a bag of ceramic media to my DT to seed it with bacteria a few weeks ago in preparation to use in a QT. Now I'm not sure exactly when I will need to set up the QT tank -- could be days or months from now.
Id like to get the bag out of the DT but still have it available to use if possible. At this point can I remove the bag of media and store it in a container of salt water like in a closet to keep it alive?? Dose it with a little ammonia to keep the cycle going/grow more bacteria? Would the water need to be aerated or heated (or kept cool) or have light or anything? It seems like this should work but not sure what I'm missing or is required. Pic of the bag o' media attached haha.
