Store meet-up

A thread a couple weeks ago started a discussion between PJB and myself about meeting up at a local store. I was wondering if anybody else in the area was interested in doing CTARS meetups at local stores. Maybe a bi-weekly or monthly thing in the interim until the club gets up and running again.

Mid-week in the evenings typically works for me. I work until 4:30 in South Windsor. Anything from Blake’s up to the two newer shops in Worcester is doable.

PJB was talking about meeting up at Emmon’s Tropical Fish in Simmons, CT. Is anybody interested in checking out Emmon’s this week?

I’ll be over there around 5-5:15or so.

If we plan something for a couple weeks out, we might be able to get a bigger group and grab drinks after.

Sorry all. I wish i could have went. Unfortunately I had a wake to go to. I live like right across the street from Emmons.
I think SK has a really cool idea of trying to get everyone together and taking road trips to different local fish stores.

Not quite. I think I need to schedule it a little further out for people to commit to it.

Is there a day of the week that works better for people?
Is there a timeframe that is more ideal?

Personally, weekends are tough and I don’t get out of work until 4:30.
I work in Windsor but live in MA, about an hour away, so late meetups don’t really work for me.

I work 4 days on and 4 days off so it's always a toss up. This week I have Tues-Fri off

The way the future sounds for CTARS. This might be a good idea for those of us that are serious about keeping a club going.

I'd be interested. What about Friday nights? Most people have the weekend free. We could switch it up, Friday then Sunday... Whatever.
I remember always meeting at stores until we overwhelmed them. Good times [emoji106]

I make the hour+ drive to Windsor for work Monday through Friday. Driving and extra 20-45 minutes past that on a weekend doesn’t sound appealing to me. I’d rather take a detour on the way home from work when I am already out that way than make the extra trip. I do understand that most people have family obligations and need to deal with things like feeding kids and making sure school work is done.

I was also avoiding Friday because I figured most people go out and do things on Friday nights.

I am more willing to head out that way on a weekend day now than once the weather warms up. If the weather is good, I’m busy on the weekends March through October. I figure it would be better to have it on consistent days. Second Tuesday of the month or something like that.

Unfortunately I fall into the category of the tossing family and work life. We also fall into the Sunday's are not available in the morning because of church and then the wife starts her work week.

So Friday nights and Saturday's are good for me. That's my "play" time. Have to admit when it gets warmer out. Time gets taken up a bit with flying. I'm a freestyle drone pilot. YouTube channel Propped Nut FPV.
