Stored water gone bad?

Hello everyone, I have a brute trash can with about 15 gallons of saltwater that I made roughly 3 months ago. When I went to perform a water change on the tank yesterday, I noticed a considerable amount of insects made their way into the container and died. I live in Florida and it’s summer time so it’s inevitable. My question is is this water still useable? Could I just run it through a filter sock and get all the little bug pieces out? Or is it trash water.

I wouldn’t worry about…..think about all the microscopic stuff that gets into your tank on a daily basis…..

Depending on the brand, three months is quite a long time to store salt water. Your perimeters could have changed considerably since you mixed it. On top of that, I don’t know that I would risk the dead bugs for just 15 gallons.
