Hey guys. I was wondering what you guys thought about storing salt water in a spare tank with a lid on it untill it was time for a wc? I know ideally of would be sealed but is a lid alright? Wil l I lose anything I the slight bit of evap I will get? I post this here for that question specifically. Someone told me tht I would loose trace minerals in evap. It will also. Be in a dark place.

Storing newly made salt water in a container with a lid until use is OK. Having a lid on the container is preferred as the stored water (salt or RO/DI) will absorb volitile chemicals from the air if at all possible. You will not lose any minerals.

Before useing the stored salt water, check the salinity with a refractometer to make sure that it is correct in case of any evaporation, and I suggest running a powerhead in it overnight just prior to use to oxygenate the water.
