Storing R/O water.

I’m going to build a wooden stand for the top R/O Barrel and put a pipe in the bottom with a valve to fill the bottom barrel with gravity.

I’ll then use the pump to mix the bottom barrel and to pump it into buckets.

Ordered a 50PX-X - 1110 GPH - PAN WORLD for the water handling system. By my math it should work well.

What are the buckets for? Why not pump it to the tank?

Sorry, I'm with Randy from BRS on this one... I _hate_ carrying buckets of water around, and will go to great lengths to avoid having to do so. Currently, the only buckets I carry around are the 2x 10g rubbermade containers I siphon into when I'm doing a water change. From the mixing station back to the tank? It's pumped.

Hello!

I was looking at a 55 Gallon Water Storage Tank:

Problem is that the shipping costs more than the tank itself!

Previously I used one of those 'Brute' trash cans to store ~35 Gallons of water but the trash can was bit flimsy feeling and I didn't really feel like it kept the water isolated/clean/etc.

What do you use to store your R/O water? I have a very limited space sort of utility room/closet I am putting this in - so something tall and skinny is better than something short and fat.

I planned on just putting an R/O float at the top of whatever I use and then a bulkhead and spigot at the bottom - possibly using a pump so that I can pump the water from the very bottom up and into my mixing buckets / carrying bucket to top off the ATO reservoir.

You didn't feel the Brute was stable? Most people actually use them to store RODI water and such. I have the 44 gallon on the dolly with a float switch drilled through the side 2 inches from the top. I also keep the cover on and you can feel & hear it snap on. No, it's not air tight, which is good because you put a circulation pump to keep it oxygenated, but the cover most definitely keeps stuff out.

So unless you have hazardous particulates flying around by the can, it should be fine. Just make sure to use the lid pushed down all the way.

I have a Quiet One 4000 pump at the bottom that circulates all the water, a thermometer cord, and a heater in there. I actually don't even use the heater much because the pump keeps it around 78 degrees.

I have 2 food grade barrels one 55 and one 35. My 55 stores my ro/di and I can drain into the lower tank with a valve also an adapter to fill my ATO tank. lower tank mixes and then I can turn that valve on the mixing side and it directs to a hose that I can take straight to the tank.

I also have a pump and hose that I attach soooo it goes straight to the tank. Best thing I did
