I bought an RO DI unit, went to my local Ace Hardware store and bought a 34 gallon Ace brand with Rubbermaid logo on the side. Not the Rubbermaid brute one. It was cheaper than the brute.

Are these safe to use? Or does it have to be the brute one?

i don’t want any unknown chemicals leaching in the water

Look at the recycle symbol on can to be sure

what am I looking for?
This, and the number with it. Then you can google up the number

Don’t remember off hand, but google does

Most Rubbermaid cans are recycle 2 (High Density Polyethylene, HDPE), or recycle 4 (low density polyethylene, LDPE), both of which are safe to use.

I don’t think this particular one has the food safe label on it. Still good?
