Hi all - new to saltwater and I am about to start planning out my mixing station.. Is it true that if you fill up your stations with RO and the other with salt and do the water change a week after you can risk cycling the water and increasing TDS? The stations will not be in the basement like many of you but in my terrace which will get cold in winter and hot in summer.. Your opinions would be greatly appreciated as this is my first time and dont want to mess it up from day one.. Alternatively I set up just one tank with RO water and mix the salt in that single tank right before the water change..

If you store your RO airtight - it can be store for many months. According to saltwater - many modern "bio salt" should not be stored more than a couple of hours because of risk that some of the components can precipitate on the bottom of the cannister.

TDS is total uninteresting according to saltwater. It is naturally so high that you can´t measure it.......

Sincerely Lasse

if it is rodi water, the idea is that it has nothing but h20 in it, so it simply couldn't cycle, and you could store it indefinitely. Simply make sure that no debris or critters get it, and you are set for however long you want to store it.
