Hey Guys,

Recently I found out I contaminated my 50Gallons of RODI water that I had been using for a month to water change my nano 8G tank.

Every coral I have put into the tank I have lost over the past month... I am assuming the RODI water contamination played a part.

/cry

Can you guys give me some good suggestions on what containers to go with, how you store your RODI water, and salt water? Are there containers out there that will making measuring the water out easy?

I am currently using walmart 5Gallon buckets with lids to mix / store my salt water. Its a real PIA to have to open them every week, there has to be an easier way.

Thanks,

John

go to the hardware store (lowes or HD) and get a Brute container with a lid....you want something that is food grade compatible..i have used these before with success..
if you were closer, i have 2 brute containers i would give to you..

+1 on Brute containers. I have two, each with roller dollies so I can move water around the house. One is for RO and one for mixing which has two hydors and a heater. Each has a BRS float valve for connecting the RO unit.

I keep a submersible pump with flexible hose for pumping the water wherever I need it. I use a Rubbermaid slim Jim can with lid next to my 120 and a Home Depot bucket for my 75.

Does the Slim Jim bow much when filled? I am considering using one of these for RODI storage for my office tank.

Sorry, I didn't realize this was a very old thread with a new question which I can't answer, but...

I use 12 of the 44 gallon grey Brute cans on my single system, 2 for RO/DI, 3 for limewater (kalkwasser) two for new salt water, 3 for refugia, and 2 for the sump. :)

Yes, it does bow, to what extent is unknown as its wedged between the wall and aq stand. No problems with it thus far.

Agree with everyone else Brute is the way to go. I have a 20 gallon Brute for my ATO
