Hello All;

My reef tank size is 120 Gallons and I do water change 5-10% every week.

I have 52 gallons storage container filled with salt water. I use this to be ready for weekly water change or emergencies. There is return pump inside storage container for circulating all time. I clean storage container once every month.

1. I want to know if storing salt water for 1 week is or even one month with good circulating affect the trace elements?
2. Does trace elements reduced over time during storage?
3. How much maximum time you can store salt water with good circulating?

You can easily store for a month with no issues. BRS Just did an amazing video on this very subject not long ago, check it out!

That's good news. Thanks I will check it.

That's a complicated question, but I would not avoid storing water. i stored mine for a month or more each time I made a batch.

When calcium carbonate precipitates from some salt mixes, it may take out some amount of certain trace metals that may bind to the calcium carbonate surfaces.
