I use kz salt and it comes in a bag,but obviously you can’t re seal it,so I keep it in a 30drum air tight but I was wondering if putting a bag of silica or some kind of moisture absorbent in there would help or would it have a negitive affect on the salt parameters?any one else do this?

I used to store my salt in a large container like you did. I ordered a jug of BRS's desiccant and left it open in the container. It absorbed moisture pretty well. I began to like that approach less and less, so over time I started portioning the salt mix into individual 1 gallon freezer Ziploc bags. As of now, I use Instant Ocean and make 50 gallon batches, so I use an entire bag at once. Now thankfully I don't have to worry about keeping salt dry.

My salt also comes in bags. It used to be that once I've used some I twist the bag up and use a binder clip to hold it but I had a bag clump up on me so now I do the same but also place it in a 5 gallon bucket with an o-ring lid.

I do the ziplock bag trick also.. when I get a new batch of salt mix I pre measure and individually bag it up then put the individual bags into a large air tight container.
