Hello, I'm new to this site. I've been into this hobby for a little over a year. I am having some issues trying to figure out this LED kit I purchased from nano box reef. I have a 32 biocube and the factory LEDs were great but while doing a ton of research on good upgrades to do I kept coming across led kits.

Since installing I just can't seem to figure out some things. I've read the breakdown on the storm controller submitted by Dave @nanobox. I get that part. My issues I need help is.
1. My water temp is rising up to 83.5 during the day while lights are on. Thats with my heater being unplugged. I also live in PA so its not like living in FL and its hot all the time.
2. Apparently this system stays on 24 hours a day. I was hoping to mimic a time schedule similar to my factory biocube. It ramps up, stays bright, ramps down to blues, then Temps down again to shut off. I cant figure out how to have this kit do that without a timer.
3. Now with sunset my lights rams down dark enough to where it just shuts off then 5 mins later my blues come on. I notice my corals start to close up during the ramp down so when the blues kick on everything is shut tight. I can't imagine they're happy without having that smooth transition.
4. There isn't any presets for a mixed reef I have been having to rent a par meter to figure out my levels which is tough because when I slowly try to ramp them up over time I don't know how it effects my par.
4. My yellow channel has a strobe light effect until turned up to 50%

I know its alot I just need help do I hang on with this kit? If so, how do I adjust this properly? Any help is appreciated!!

I have the nanobox retro on my biocube and it runs hot also, I leave the feeding lid up and run a small dc fan to help keep temps down.. not familiar with the storm controller Im running the bluefish on mine.

BTW.. welcome to R2R!!

I was told something was wrong with the bluefish mini at the time so the storm controller was my only option. I have the large retro kit. Ill try that for the temp. Can I ask, what are your light settings at? Do you have presets with the bluefish? My storm controller has to be manually adjusted. Also, does your system run 24 hours a day?

Its on all the time but lights ramp up and down until my blue channel is at 1% for overnight. I can't remember much about the controller I set it up like 5 years ago and haven't touched it since.. lol. Don't remember it having presets but mine is set somewhere around 80-20 blue to white, Ill have to see if I can even get into app that controls it when I get a chance.

Found a old screen grab of my settings on the bluefish.. you can see my blue channels are around 80% and every thing else around 20 or under

Thanks!!! I wish I had the bluefish so I could set it the same way. I have my lights running the same time length as well. Maybe I'll try and run it on auto and see what happens. Auto requires the long and lat so it can run off of the outside lighting schedule so I'm worried it'll be too much light. I don't want to cook my coral by jumping up so much in time. Thanks again man! I appreciate ya sharing some info.
