StPatrick's 60 Gallon Solana XL

The best place I'v found for cleanup crew is www.reefcleaners.org If you email the guy with your tank demensions specs, all that he will send you a list of what will probably work the best, thats what I did and I love my CUC, also its very cheap! And he ushualy sends a few extras just in case! Great service for sure.

Thanks Paul. I will check them out.

Looks really good...:thumbup: and how about gas struts to help hold the canopy open. That or locking hinge.

I would love a gas strut. Where can I find one to hold up around 50-60 lbs?

Go to auto zone or other parts store they should have them in stock... im guessing you might need one thats about 12-15" collapsed. And one would be fine to hold up that weight.

So I have been getting to many micro bubbles. I decided to build a new and wider sump with three baffles.

Tank has cycled. Nitrate is about 20 ppm. To high. I needed to start adding the corals I am keeping. They started to die off in my temp set up. Here is a a few pictures. First is of the first frags to go in. Keeping my fingers crossed. Three days in and I have great polyp extension and it appears there is new growth.

Here are some shots with the lights on. The scape turned out great.

The is the view from the front. When your looking at the tank straight on it looks like a solid wall of rock work.

I also forgot to mention. Everything that went into the tank in the last few days where dip in Bayer Advance Insect killer. I followed the instruction in the you tube video I added a few pages ago. Everything came out just fine.

Long time know update. My take came into line. Params are Alk - 7.5, CA - 450, PO4 - .02, Nitrate is about 4 ppm. Down from 50ppm.

I recieved some nice peices from Copps on reef central. I have more coming in from Battle Corals and JAR-Z on reef central. I will update on those friday.

I really wanted the solana 60 xl but apparently they were discontinued. Love your setup, looks great!

Thank you Shane. If I were to do it again I would probably have had a tank built. I dont care for the Solanas over flow.

I probably gonna go with the 60 cube from glasscages.com. I really like the 2'x2' cubes. Was considering the 3'x3' 150g cube by marineland, but those disappeared too! I can get that done at glass gages too if i dicide to go that large. Im running a 15g tall right now so that would be a monster upgrade project!!!

Ok so I was in Encinitas tropical and picked up a couple great finds. I was able to score a Tyree war&peace and this acan. It has about 6 heads on it and was cheap. They are calling it the Root-beer acan. WOW. I have never seen anything quit like it. he didnt know much more about it. Has anyone seen one like this? Deep chocolate, greens, blues, and reds.

Long time no update. Been crazy busy. I ordered a few corals from Jason Fox a couple day. I can wait for them to come in :) I took a picture last night with my iPhone. Side shot with just the leds and t5s on.

Here are some pictures of a few of my corals.
