Straight from chemi clean to dinox

Anyone got any experience doIng this. Just finished chemi clean treatment did the water change. However have dinos and dunno if it’s ok

There is a reason you have dinos. Fix that first before adding more chemicals.

Because chemiclean killed off your good bacteria and bottomed out your nutrients. You tried a bandaid fix for an algae problem and opened the door for a much worse algae problem.

We need complete tank parameters please and pics under white light of the dinos.

So your salinity is low, alk low, phosphate low and nitrates are low which leads to dinos. You need to fix your parameters.

Dinos happen. Every reef tank has a form a dinoflagellates in it (eg, zooxanthellae). There are many threads on this forum for info on how to manage them. For me, blacking out the tank for three days as required, and adding a uv sterilizer fixed it. Had ostreo dinos in two tanks a couple years ago.

For me, blacking out the tank for three days as required, and adding a uv sterilizer fixed it. Had ostreo dinos in two tanks a couple years ago.

As for ICP- its not that no one cared or ignored them, but depends time of the day posted and where it was posted as many of us have different time zones.
It appears your nitrate and Phosphate are very low and can promote dino which is not unusual after a battle with cyano. Chemical treatments are often alternatives and not solutions and should have been a Last recourse.
Your gorgonian coral does not confirm Dino. Do you have full tank pics under white lighting ?

Salinity range should be 1.024-1.026
It takes some steps to regulate dino and cyano but first needed is confirmation of what you have. The key is to put a stop to cell reproduction of both types.

Depending on which coral you keep, it may be too harsh for them, ie lps and sps. I suggest using caution. Patience will go a long way too, as the real cure takes months to get rid of dino.

People are way to quick to jump the gun on chemicals (with the exception being bryopsis). Dinos are an easy fix, get a cheap microscope and identify the type first. Get your nutrients up no matter what type. If it's a water column species then UV. If it's not then diversifying bacteria and siphoning will be your best friend.

Imo you need to stop jumping the gun and id the dinos first. Then address which ones you have. If your that quick to add chemicals then this hobby may not be for you.

Lights are out for the day already. Salinity was low the day I tested for icp. It’s where it should be now.
