just wondering if anyone has ever used a coffee filters to strain kalkwasser

Nope. I just let it settle.

You'll still get some precipitate later as CO2 enters the water and forms calcium carbonate (unless it is tightly closed somehow). A simple trash can lid often does not prevent a skin of calcium carbonate from forming (IME).

Makes the kalk taste like coffee! Yuk!

I think the filtering action might just cause more air/kalk mixing so you precipitate even more.

Are you using a conductivity meter to verify saturation of your kalk?

Have not tried it was just thinking if it could work.
Maybe if it worked u could use it right away

Yes, you could. I make up 120 gallons at a time, and use it over a month, so allowing it to sit overnight isn't an issue for me.
