Hello everyone!

I did a bit of research on fin diseases and parasites before I dipped my Midus Blenny, in FW for 5 minutes to try and fix whatever is on his fin. It definitely looks like some parasite to me, but he appears completely healthy, after just getting him two days ago from my LFS. I didn't notice the spots when I got him so I'm confused where they came from. Does anyone know if this is something I should worry about or if its something harmless like Lymphocystis? I would love any thoughts on this! I took a video for easier viewing of the problem as well. -->

P.S. I know its difficult to figure in Midus Blennys, but if anyone knows the gender of this blenny just based on the attached video I would love some insight so I know if Nacho or Nacho Belle is a better name. :)

Thank you!!

You typically wont know until they spawn while many say male more colorful. I also see fish has fin ray issue (maintain good water quality) and fish is a little thin. Assuming its eating fine, offer it LRS nano frenzy, brine shrimp and plankton to keep it plump which it should be

So this isn't a parasite? Thank goodness. I currently feed New life Spectrum, brine and mysis. Should I still consider buying LRS nano frenzy?

It looks like Lymphocystis, but that doesn’t grow overnight, it takes days/weeks to grow that large. The store should have noticed that when they caught it up for you, even if you missed it.

There isn’t any parasite that looks like this, but it could be a bacterial infection / mucus from some damage that happened when it was caught up for you at the store.

Interesting. It's definitely possible it was always there and I didn't notice at LFS. I don't mean this to sound silly, but as long as my parameters are healthy, and I keep feeding him he well, he should recover?

BTW, my only LFS is just a higher quality Petco, so maybe that would explain why they didn't notice it.
