Strange Blob

Hi guys, so I'm quite new to the saltwater aquarium, and all is going well so far... Only thing is... I was looking around the other day and noticed some almost see-through blobs of stuff attached to the Rock and some loose pieces of the same stuff on the substrate. Does anyone have an idea of what they might be? I have attached a picture of one that I took out to try figure out what it was... Any help is greatly appreciated!

It's hard to get a picture of, but I've tried my best! Pic attached of it on the rock and in the substrate.

They're filter feeders, but usually don't live long in aquariums.
