So i purchased this mimic tang and it has a blue pattern on its side i've never seen this before i'am wondering if it some sort of hybrid, its from the Philippines. Has anybody else seen this before?

hmm thats weird all the other mimics looked different and some where even smaller. Is there a difference between a lemon peel mimic and regular chocolate mimic?

Not that I know of, but I would check liveaquaria.com. And that's the thing with their colors.

I read that, as a security measure, while within the "size range" of a dwarf Angel, they will mimic. But when their size grows past the point of the dwarf size, that's when they supposedly change. But mine is about 3 inches and he's getting black and orange on his fins, gills and other areas, where a few months ago he looked like yours.

So to sum it up, I don't know to be honest. I just am in for the enjoyable ride after reading too much. .
