[TD="class: alt1"] Hi guys,

I need a little help. Does anybody know what this strange mark is on my clownfish? Almost looks like a bruise. Black and blueish. Does it look like Septicemia to anyone? his other white spot has slight reddish spots which worries me. Only one side.

Let me know if the picture link doesn't work.
Thanks!!

Also, I couldn't find a forum specifically for sick fish, is there one?

I don't really know what's normal for your species of clown...

I couldn't see the red marks you mentioned (I'm on my phone) but I agree the patch on his head looks off. I can say it doesn't look like septicemia to me, but other than that I don't know. Maybe it actually IS a bruise. My clowns go a little crazy right after the lights turn off, so...*shrug*

Is he hosting in something that could be stinging?

Hi, thanks. I'm leaning more toward buise myself. No, there is nothing in the tank that could be stinging. He is still very active and seems normal, of course I've had him a very short time, so I'm not completely certain what normal is, but he definitely doesn't seem lethargic or anything. The red is very faint and I might be overreacting, it's quite possible he always looks that way. Anyway, let me know if anyone else has any ideas. Thanks!

Hm, Thanks for the suggestion, it would have happened in the tank he was in before being transported to mine and I'm pretty sure there was nothing in there could have stung him. But I don't really know for certain, so I suppose it's possible. He's still acting completey normal and it hasn't gotten any worse, hopefully it will begin to fade soon.

Oh yeah, I remember reading about that. If clowns try to host a coral instead of a nem, it may end up with sting marks. From what I read, it doesn't really harm the clownfish and though it may leave scar spots the clown eventually adapts to its kind of sting and will stop getting new sting marks.
