hi guys, iv been seeing this strange white growth in my return pump section, it’s been spreading over the past few months. It started to stick to my return pump and a little on my slimmer, now it’s really filling up the chamber walls as well.
Any ideas what it is, and if I should be concerned? And if so how to treat this?

Thanks!

These things are good filter feeders. Just scrape them off from areas that you do not like them to be like around pumps or power heads or drains

Ok great, thanks for the info! I was taking pump out to do my bi annual scrub on it, but since they are beneficial, I think I’ll just scrape them off pump but leave on the walls, as I’m not one of those guys with super pretty dumps

I had a crap load of them too. I couldn't stand them cause they grew so quick where I couldn't contain them, so I drained my sump and washed them all out.

These things once get popped they spread out. That's why when you remove them you need to be careful not spread it everywhere.

Wow thats a lot of them. They are very common and as said good for the biofilteration of the reef tank. They tend to ebb and flow at least for me.
