I've had this goni frag for a couple months and this strange growth has started to take over the bottom of the plug and my goni doesn't seem to like it too much. It seems to be soft tissue. Can't find any info on what it might be. Any ideas?

That’s an invasive species of sponge I hate that stuff so much I can’t seem to find a way to get rid of it though!

Oh great! Time to take off the plug and scrape the ever living crap out of it. I dipped it before adding it in so I imagine that doesn't work too well in getting rid of it.

Hopefully a scrape and monitor will do the trick

It sucks it is so envasive cause that would be a cool sponge to have in a tank. I like it's purple colors.

I would recommend bleaching any rock it’s on while you have it under control!!

So far I think its just on the goni frag and hasn't spread to the rock I might just call the goni a wash and remove it. I may try to remove the colony from the plug and put it on the rock if I don't see any of the sponge on it.

That looks like it may be a tunicate.
