Thanx again...

Fear is for euphilias, when you get one baby head, and grow them to colony of 10 heads....really dont want to loose them... :)

As a recent victor over Dino’s after a 6+ month fight.

What finally worked

Daily filter sock vacuuming into sump.
In-line UV sterilizer on return (Icecap-40)
Stopped water changes (very important)
Raised No/Po
3 day blackout
Dr. Tim’s Re-Fresh during black out
Dr. Tim’s waste-away for 5 days after

keep Nitrates >10
Keep Phosphate > .05

One quickie....

Is it ok to bleach and clean vacumed sand, and then return it?

Dont bleach the sand, the bleach wont be clean from the sand until its completely dry, every grain of sand.

So, just rinse it well in rodi, and back in tank?

When talking about reducing light....

Only duration, or and intensity?

I mean, should i leave intensity, just make cycle shorter, or should i reduce intensity also?

Tnx!

The only thing you should do with the sand is siphon it up from the bottom with the tube and let it fall right back through the tube onto the bottom, dinos dont stick well, they blow away easily. The siphon is to get them out of the tank, no need to remove any sand. Leave everything about your lights the same, same spectrum, same intensity, just reduce the time they are on to 5 hours AT MOST.

Sadly newer learned to vacuum without removing some sand, so i wonder is it ok to rinse it and put back in tank? Not whole of course, just some that i get out....

Ok, so 5 hours if light max. Any preffered time of day, does natural light in room is problem?

I think, from 12-5......

Yes that is completely fine to put it back in the tank. I had mine from 1130 to 430, but anything like that works just fine.

Thank you again for time and effort.

I will post update how things going....

Ok, now the lights are on, same thing as yesterday, now its time to vacuum and clean everything.....

Yep, Its gonna be a revolving continuous process for a while, especially until you ID what dinos it is.

I vacumed living.... Out of it.....

Tomorrow i will vacuum sand again, how long do you recommend to keep 5h of lights? Day, three, month? ;)

I ordered some cheap kids microscope, it says it have 100-400-1200x magnification, i hope it will be ok. Very very cheap one.

Sadly, it will take week until it arrive.....

Update....

As expected, now lights are on, sand is clean and white......

Should i vacuum it again today, regardless that it appears clean, or?

Interesting, after removing top layer with that "stuff", sand is clean, very little detritus came from bottom layers of sand.....

Sand is clean, but really no answer should i continue vacuming?
