Strange looking purple plant

There is a strange looking purple plant by my ricordia. Does anyone know what it is?

Hard to tell from the quality of the pic but I guess it could be Pom Pom macro

Yes, I looked it up and that is what it looks like. Should I leave it in the tank or remove it?

That's what we put in our refugium to help export nitrates.
It's very good stuff, I'm not sure if the coral will kill it or not, but you could separate it from the coral and it will tend to sink to the bottom and grow, or if you have a refugium, put it in there.
