So I was poking around my tank, as is my wont and I saw what looked like the arm of a starfish poking out from a crevice. But I don’t have any green starfish, and this doesn’t move. It does not respond to aggressive prodding, but appears to be doing some encrusting behavior at its base. It literally looks like an algae tentacle. Anyone seen this before?
Terrible pics I know it is right in the middle.

This was kind of funny actually because it turned out to be an errant strand of silicone that had developed a layer of algae on top of it. It really did look like something alive!
