I added the suggested amount of Fritz Turbostart 9000 to my 20g QT tank and a couple of hours later I noticed a bunch of piles of brown particulate on the glass bottom. It almost looks like piles of dissolved pellet food.
I just set the tank up yesterday and the only thing in it are a couple of PVC pipe sections, the heater, and a bag of Marco-rock rubble. No food has been put in the tank yet. I'm using the same saltwater I've been using for my main tank (6-stage RODI with Tropic Marin Pro reef salt). I did put a couple of mL of AmGuard in as well (last time I did QT I kept fighting ammonia levels so I thought I'd try AmGuard this time to help keep the levels manageable).
I checked the exp date and it's still plenty good. I brought it home from my LFS where it was refrigerated, so it's not like it was stored at room temp or anything.
Has anybody experienced that before? Any idea what it might be?
