So I recently added some aquacultured rock and did not notice this right away but there's what I thought was a rock mass that had some yellow/brownish color to it. I thought maybe it was some kind of encrusting sponge/coral was growing on it but I noticed one night there was a hole or mouth and as soon as I flashed light on it, it closed abruptly and now I have it on video. Is anyone able to identify this thing? It doesn't really move just stays in one area. I have poked it with a syringe feeder and it does contract but I have no clue what it is. I couldn't find anything doing a search but I guess I also don't know how to begin a search it's unlike anything I've ever seen or read about.

Tunicate, also known as a sea squirt. There should be another hole on the side of it... They draw in water, trap particulates, and then jet it out the side.

They are filter feeders and will grow into a colony. You appreciate it or gel superglue it shut and remove with razor once not pulsing water in and out

Well if they're not harmful there's no need for that, thanks.
Problem is, eventually they wont have enough food source and die and pollute the tank. That's why I suggest removal otherwise theyre neat to watch
