I'm wondering if anybody here knows what this stuff is. The red spikey cluster are tiny and on several rocks. The translucent stuff on the coral skeleton has been on it since I found it, but it's been dry, sitting on a shelf in my bathroom since April. All this rock was dry for 2 years before I put it in my tank. What gives? Any clue what either of these are? Thanks!

It's hard to tell based on the pics that come up when I google that anemone. Any more guesses? I'd love to look really smart at my next club meeting. lol

now that's interesting... and i'll tell you why. I have that kind of macro algae in my sump. It's currently dying off because I don't have enough nutrients for it to survive in my brand new setup. Although, when I google it, there are several different types. Maybe the Grape Caulerpa? It's obviously very "young" so we shall keep an eye on it. It sure is odd to me that something like this would rehydrate after months of being dry and start growing when other similar stuff cant survive yet.

I agree on the rehydration but perhaps it's just moved into the DT from the sump and not actually regrown from the rock.

I totally got a mention on Facebook! I had another person say the red one is a sponge.
