Earlier today I was cleaning sand off of my rocks when some white liquid came out of a rock hole when I used the turkey baster near it. Is this dangerous? It almost immediately dissolved into my tank water. I dont know if this is toxic. The fish at the moment seem to be fine.

Maybe sand you poofed out. But why ask us? Check your parameters, STAT! heheh but for real, just check your parameters, and if worred use some carbon. You got this, you know more than you think.

Params look good, and of course I wouldn't be caught dead without some extra carbon. Thanks for the advice!

Only other thing I could think of is, do you have nemmies? Is one missing?

Prob just rock dust?

Yeah, probably. It looked like a liquid and I wasn't able to see any particles but I only got a couple seconds to see it.

The only other thing I can think of is if your rock contains some brittle stars and they spawned either at that point or it was trapped in the rock and you pushed it out or something.

Probably not. I'm new to saltwater and the tank is 3 months old with just base rock, so no brittle stars. I was thinking maybe a nutrient buildup or some food got caught in there.
