Today I noticed that my Algae Blenny has a strange white spot on one of his fins. Could it be ich?

No, it's too large to be ich. It's also highly unlikely there would just be one spot. Generally, ich will look like salt has been sprinkled on a fish and velvet will look like a light dusting of baby powder. Both will be easily seen on fins when it might be hard to see on the body of a fish. It might be limphosistis but that's just a guess.

This is likely a fin ray issue which heals like lympho does and can even be a grain of sand

Turned out to be a grain of sand. Thank goodness! Thanks for all your help.
