Well after months of planning I am finally back in the US and able to start my new build. The tank is going to be 48 long 36 deep and 22 high 3 side low iron glass built by felix from reef savvy. I am hopeing the tank will arrive with in the next day or so. In the mean while I got my RO/DI set up and started making water in preparation. Got the stand framed out and completed today so once the tank is sitting on it will skin it up. It was nice to come home to a room full of boxes for stuff for the tank. I decided I wanted to try a more natural look to this build so I am going with a patch reef type of aqua scape with a minimalistic rock work. I also wanted to try to make things look natural by limiting the verity of coral going in to this one so I will have at least 2 or more colonies of every coral that I add. Also I will be trying to have pairs of fish to attempt small schools. Hopefully all will work out but here are a few starter pics aswell as come pics from reef savvy of the tank before shipment.

Added some stuff to the inside of the stand today in prep for the tank arriving tomorrow. After reading a lot on here I decided that a control was a must for me as well as some dosing pumps so I picked up a Apex and 3 dosing pumps from bulk reef supply for calcium alkalinity and magnesium. I also installed the GFO/Carbon reactor from bulk reef supply. Decided I am going to plumb the reactors from the return pump to cut down on the number of pumps that I will have. So as soon as the tank comes in tomorrow I can really get this thing going.

Awesome man! I need to learn how to do the auto dosing thing myself.

Ya the dosing pumps will be controlled via the Apex. I also got the tunze osmolator for an auto top off. I have to travel a bit with what I do so I wanted to automate as much as possible to help the misses out while I am away.

well got some more done tonight added a light for the fuge under the stand. Got the tank put on the stand, Got to say reef savvy makes an amazing tank it looks incredible thanks again Felix. Thought I would put up some quick pics of the progress and the aquascape design. Now just waiting on the sump to arrive.

Thank you Josh, I have to say I've never seen anyone move so fast on a build. I need people like you down here, I'm thinking about offering you a job LOL. Since you only have a few weeks before you have to travel again, you may want to look into Dr.Tim's One and Only to help speed up your cycle. Thanks again and good luck with everything!

Felix

Ya got the DR. Tims one and only gunna do the plumbing today and finish filling the display its coming along pretty good so far. My wife says the tank looks like it should be in an art gallery.

Fantastic, I'm really glad you guys are happy with the finished product, and if it's "wife approved" even better!

well got my lights hung today but now everytime I turn them on the breaker trips not sure why its a 20 AMP breaker and the only thing on it is the 2 halides at 2.5 amps each. Anyone ever have anything like this happen? any help would be great thanks

got my sump in today I am very happy with it it was made by Marc from melev's reef. Now just have to finish up the plumbing and fix the lights this thing is ready to rock. looks like my old ballast are the cause behind the tripping breakers so I ordered 2 new ones.
