Strawberry shortcake acro

Thanks man... I have found the sweet spot after playing with it, and bleaching it almost to death...:(
mine is about 6" off the bottom of a 24" tall tank, with very high flow....250w xm20ks for anyone wanting to know.... Does anyone know where this acro is being imported from?? Looks like Bali would be me guess lol....:)

Had no idea how many people collected this acro. My lfs mentioned it to me and I wasn't so interested, just cause it was wild. Here's what my lfs offered me to buy, pretty cheap too.

They say it is an Aussie acro.

I think a good many have bought and tried this acro. Some are having great sucess. And some have lost their frags. I'm one that has lost. I'm waiting on another to heal before being shipped.

You may shold have bought the colony if it was cheap. Frags were selling for $100 shipped.

wow!!!!!!i would never chop a colony like that....that thing is sick man!!! i would have been selling off my other colonies to get that thing...;)

If you look carefully at the corallites on this Strawberry Shortcake ... this picture here represents the true formation of the real Strawberry Shortcake. The corallites extend all the way from the base to the tips ... regardless of whether it's a full size colony or frag. Colorwise ... the tips are always Pastel Pink and pastel Lemon Lime base (wild colony) but may turn Hot Pink tips if baked under strong MH lights.

Unfortunately they're some here that aren't the "true" Strawberry Shortcakes acro.

Well, do you know who is selling the real SS and who isn't? I got mine from Mr. Coral when he was selling the 2 inch frags. I mounted it midway up in my tank under T5s and moderate flow, and it seems to be doing just fine. The pink has really developed well, and the greenish base is starting to show. The frag is well encrusted now. I will attempt to take a terrible pic at lunch time today to get everyone's verdict.

My frag, which I got 4 or 5 months ago, was doing great, albeit growing very slowly. I lost it last weekend to a sudden RTN event. It was fine when I went to sleep, and gone the next morning. No other corals having trouble, water excellent, no parasites, etc. Just there one minute, dead the next.

Yah should of took the offer. The cost was 399.00 and he wanted to split it with me. No worry I'll just await the next batch.

very nice... :) and I'm not even really into SPS, yet... LoLz....

Marv ... if you do get the real Strawberry ... you're gonna fall in love with it !! Just make sure you don't end up with what we call "cheap man's" Strawberry Shortcake" ... :xd:. There's some Aussie acro that slightly resemble the real deal ... ya just have to pay attention to it's corallites structure and color.

This is the best I could do with my point and shoot. It was difficult to tell if the base color had come through, but when I turned off the flow and looked from the top down, it is definitely there and much brighter than this photo!!! Hope it survives.

Well my first strawberry shortcakes got in my tank for a few days and doing great until my digital heater melted down and overheat my tank and destroy 35-40% of my corals including the ss. Just got another piece in the tank and waiting for it to color up.

Nice i just got a frag of the Strawberry Short cake what do you guys recommend as water flow and any other help full tips to keep it alive?
