Stress coat and protein skimmer :(

Ok so being new saltwater I dosed stress coat for a small nip on one of our ocellaris not knowing it was gonna send the protein skimmer into a 7 day long spaz...I have done huge water changes and even washed skimmer out in bathtub. Is there anything I can do to get my skimmer working right again? Surely after 7 days and water changes the stress coat is gone right? At a loss now seeing my skimmer still doing this.

You could adjust your skimmer to skim dry so to say. That will pull less water, while still pulling the stress coat. You’ll at least have to empty the collection cup less often.
