#reefsquad Is it ever a good idea to feed a stressed bta? I've ruled out parameters, lighting, temp, been no recent changes to the tank. I've had the bta for almost 5 months and have only fed once about a month after it was introduced. I think the poor thing may be starving.

If it will eat yes feed it. I have had three anemone's and the last one I have, I feed twice a week and they have really grown. I say they, for the reason the last one turned into two after splitting. Your's looks pretty ruff, but try in small bits;)

If you can remove it and put it in an isolation basket and feed it as it will accept it.

Probably going to die. For some reason nems sometimes fail in a tank that's not ready for them, or they come ill from the beginning and never thrive.

I can say that I will start treating nems like fish in QT as I get them in the future for diseases. I've have BTAs that were/are fine and three that I got from various sources (not the most trustworthy) died.

Also, make sure they're eating small (real small for him) bits of food that are "fluffy". They do not digest dense foods well. Mysis would be good for this guy. Even if it's only a couple at a time.

Additionally they now have anemone pellets that might actually be great also. Nutrient dense.

Fwiw it's looked like this under the blue lights. Also looks like it might be moving down, away from the lights.

What's it look like in the dead of night? Check and see after the lights have been off a few hours.

Here's what it looks like at night. What is that thing on the right side of the photo?

Gotcha. Yeah it's in rough shape.

Its a bristle worm. No big deal.

How long has it looked like this? my RBTA has some bad days where i come home to him shrunk or deflated. But he will be back to normal the next day. and that looks like a bristle worm. good cleanup crew.

Take a closer look at the first photo. Bleached, tenticals are at a minimum, but it's still filled with water. It's just had a lot of tissue loss.

I know what you're saying. When they're pooping or doing a self-water change. This looks quite different. The foot looks weakly attached too.
