Do they look like they’re stretching? What would be the cause?...

No cause, could be reaching for the light, could be other reason. Zoas are weird

not much of a zoa fan , but i once read somewhere - they are reaching for more light

I habe two tanks.. one is a 30 gallon with two T5 lights.. both ati bulbs.. one is a coral plus.. one is a blue plus.. But they are run in a normal output fixture so instead of 39 wattz pet bulb they are only 18w.. The tank is 18 inches tall.

My other tank is a 135g with 4 T5 lights. Two blue two coral plus.. but are run in a higj output fixture so they are getting full ppwer. The tank is 24 inches tall though..

I have a colony of zoas i split up one went in my 30g one went in the 135.. The zoas in the 135g stay short and bushy. The ones in the 30g stretch out like yours. I put the stretching out ones in the 135g to see what would happen and they became short and bushy

And as i said these zoas are from the same colony.. One tank clearly has less light then the other with 2 bbs run in normal putput or half the wattage vs 4 bulbs at full power.. Which means zoas that stretch out like this arent getting enough light.

You need to increase the light in the tank or move them up higher
