String of....eggs?

I was tending to the rack this morning and noticed this string of what appear to be eggs. It's one string, several inches long, maybe a 1/4" in diameter. They were free flowing and didn't seem to be attached except at one small point. I was sure it was snail eggs, even though it seemed large for a snail but I can't ID it at all.

So. Thoughts?

I can't think of anything else that would lay them like that.
