I recently went out of town and currently have a 125+Sump display tank. While I was out the pH spiked and dropped and I had to reset my entire tank. Cleaned it up and did a 90% water change. Parameters are set as the Red Sea Coral Pro Salr comes as I just did a massive water change however I have this nuisance algae built up and soon to kill one of my $250 peach hammer corals. It’s starting to grow on the skeleton as I had to remove them before the tank pH spiked and crashed. Putting them back in the one has seemingly gotten in worse shape as the algae grows on its large skeleton. I plan to remove it and take the stuff on it off and do a q-tip peroxide cleanse of the sections, allow it to swell up a little then place it back in. However the issue is I have this stringy algae crap everywhere and it seemingly won’t go away even after a thorough toothbrush rock scrubbing session. Really looking for someone to ID the algae so I can then go and find a removal process.
